Overview
The Castle Hill High School Library is a vibrant 21st century learning environment focused on encouraging and enriching students’ lifelong learning skills through the development of critical and creative thinking.
Facilities
We have three teaching spaces, including two computer labs and a flexible learning space. These are booked by classroom teachers to work collaboratively with the Teacher Librarians to create rich learning experiences to enhance students’ learning. Our Reading Corner is used by classes and individual staff and students for quiet reading.
Resources
Castle Hill High School Library provides both print and digital resources to support the learning of students. The 21st century has seen a change in the way we all access information and consequently we provide a wide range of online subscription services. This ensures that students are accessing reliable, current, authoritative sources of information for their research tasks.
We are dedicated to providing wonderful print, e-book and audio reading choices to encourage reading for pleasure. This is grounded on research that shows that reading widely is essential for intellectual, personal and social development.
The two teacher librarians work as information specialists, liaising with staff to provide lessons focusing on specific skills related to research, ICT, critical and creative thinking and literature across the curriculum.
