


The stage 5 Design and Technology course encompasses a broad range of experiences through the development and implementation of various design projects within a range of contexts. These design projects provide the students with a wealth of knowledge on the Design Process and skill development through the construction of various projects, including competence in computing software and use of jewellery making tools, sewing machines and cooking equipment.
Successful completion of these tasks result in the students developing the opportunity to identify problems and opportunities, research and investigate existing solutions, analyse data and information, generate, justify and evaluate ideas, and experiment with technologies to manage and produce design projects.
At Castle Hill High School, the 200 hour Design and Technology course comprises of 5 units of work addressing the following focus areas of design;

Castle Hill High School acknowledges the tradition custodians of the land of Castle Hill, the Darug people. The Castle Hill region was home to the Bidjigal clan of the Darug people, which means 'plains-dweller' in the Darug language. We pay our respects to Elders past, present and emerging and extend that respect to all Aboriginal people.
