In September, a number of Year 9 students attended the Peer Support Camp at the Outdoor Education Experience centre at Morisset. Students participated in a variety of challenging physical activities such as the giant swing, the high ropes course and abseiling, which tested their skills while encouraging group work.
They also engaged in Peer Support sessions where they were trained by the current Year 10 peer support leaders. The leadership skills gained on this camp will be showcased on the Year 7 (2011) Orientation Day. The Castle Hill High peer support leaders will spend the morning session with the junior students, followed by a barbeque lunch. These peer support leaders will continue to work with the junior students in 2011, helping them settle in to high school.
